Audition in Tokyo 2004
Organized by the NPO Opera del Popolo/Minnano-Opera
No restriction of age, musical carrier, nationality. residential place. The
audition will be held for the all roles of this opera, and pianists /corepetiteur(trice).
By the revised edition of the NPO Opera del Popolo in 2003, the
misunderstandings of the religion, the traditions and the customs of Japan in
this opera were corrected finally after 100 years from the first performance at
Teatro La Scala in 1904. This edition will be refined and used in the repeated
performances by popular demand in 2004, and will be sung also partially
translated into Japanese. All the candidates must undertake the audition at
their own cost, including overseas traveling. Piano accompanist will be arranged
by the organizer for all singers from abroad free of charge. Travel and
accomodation allowances for the overseas resident; ¥400.00 from Europe, Oceania
and USA, ¥200.000 from Asia will be given. This is only to those who sing at the
performance.

Audition fee: ¥15.000=Butterfly---¥1.500=Son of Butterfly (10% of reward=singer.

The revised vocal score / edition 2004 (in which the phonetic guide of Japanese
pronunciation is written=Butterfly and Sharples sing partially in Japanese,
while Pinkerton and Kate sing all in the original Italian=), regulations of the
audition (in which are all the details), and a entry sheet will be sent
immediately to you. Then fill out the sheet and send back to the office,
including audition fee /cash, and your 2 pictures (one for recognition and one
for publicity).
