Our NPO was founded in 2001, and have been acted for the popularization of opera in this country, and for the@ recognition@of Japanese culture in foreign countries with the support of gthe salon member‚“h which consists of more than 200 people. Our board of directors consists of, Etsuya Washio (ex. chairman of the Rengo-the biggest workers alliance in Japan) as the chief director, Takao Okamura (opera singer) as the general aritistic director, and an famous actor, a company manager, a TV producer, and a scholar and etc.
Every of our repertories are most deserving to be presented in Japan:The fantasy of once upon a time and place, Mozart's "the Magic flute Die Zauberflote" won the great praise at the performance in Numazu/ Shizuoka. Sagae and Tsuruoka/Yamagata. We are also planning a oversea performance in 2009 by Puccini's "Madama Butterfly (Ciocio-san)", which was revised the Japanese misconception of the original for the first time in the world. Moreover, the completely new work of this year, which was created with the combination of Japanese traditional spirit and western musical technique "Matsu and Oaki-A story of a man and a woman both live in Edo society, struggling with their dismal and sad fate-" is regarded as the completely new mono-opera, which is originaly written by our famous writer Shugoro Yamamoto, dramatized by Takao Okamura, and composed by Megumi Onaka.

I have kept myself unsophisticated, earnest receiver as "a late opera fan" without single knowledge of musical notation and technical term.
I watched the mono-opera in which he undertakes the whole 9 roles and in which he dramatized, "Matsu and Oaki" twice, the premiere and repeat performance of this autumn, which was produced, appeared and directed by Takao Okamura.
The solo opera which he dramatized two short stories of Shugoro Yamamoto, and Megumi Onaka composed.
Backed by a clarinet and a piano as his only co-players, Takao Okamura sings and tells the joys and sorrows of the life of a man and woman of the bottom of the society.
It is a result of extraordinary passion and study of Okamura who have lived as an opera singer and wanted to send the opera which all people can enjoy.
Reproduced sadness and painfulness of a misfortune man and woman of the Edo era by the stage, I was impressed and appriciated.
Okamura may say "Objection!" when I, who have been continuing to watch his performances for over 20years, write in this way.
However, "Matsu and Oaki" shows a new phase of Takao Okamura, and it is more impressive and has higher completeness than all his past stages.
